Flying Car - Terrafugia Transition
Posted Tuesday, August 5th, 2008 by Alex IonFlying cars. I’m sure we are all eager to have them on the streets. Uh .. in the air, as soon as possible. The big question is when we’ll be able to drive/fly it.

Terrafugia is the company that developed “Transition”, a flying car, and showed it off at the AirVenture air show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Though it didn’t fly, the car looks bad-ass and the company gave us a few specs to convince us that it will fly. Made of carbon fiber, the car is 850 pounds heavy and gets a 23 mpg from a Rotax 912 S engine.
Pretty cool, but what’s it going to cost and will we need tower control approval to go to work?
Unlike others, Terrafugia’s Transition is not going to take off or land vertically, therefor we suspect a long driveway is needed. The company is pretty sure, they’ll have it up and running by 2010. Check out the video below with co-founder Samuel Schweighart.
