Sprint Katana II

Posted Monday, December 1st, 2008 by TechGeek

The Sanyo is a slim flip-open mobile phone which improves on the original Katana range. It looks a lot like the hugely popular Motorola Razr but this is a no frills budget phone. Much like the Razr there’s a 1 inch external display and the phone flips open to reveal a 2.2 inch color screen within. It has apparently had a memory upgrade since the original Katana and now offers 21MB and updated Bluetooth connectivity.

The other features are the basics you would expect and the phone comes in a choice of pink, black or grey. There’s a poor quality VGA camera but it does have built in GPS and as a cheap option it does enough to cater for most needs. There is a lot of hype about additional functions on mobile phones but many people are satisfied with something that does the job it was intended for and the certainly does that.

LG LX600 Lotus arrives at Sprint

Posted Thursday, September 11th, 2008 by TechGeek

Designed by Christian Siriano, LX600 Lotus seems to be one of the most beautiful phones I’ve seen lately. The Lotus comes in luxurious colors such as purple with embossed flowers or satin black. At the first glance, the handset is targeted to female consumers, but I won’t mind to own a black version.

Check the list of features:

  • QWERTY keyboard
  • EV-DO support
  • Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity
  • 2 megapixel camera
  • dedicated music buttons
  • microSD card slot that supports up to 12GB of additional storage
  • productivity tools and e-mail support
  • One Click home screen
  • access to TV and Music Store

This stylish phone can do many things. It sports a 65k colors external display and a 2.4 inches internal display supporting 262k colors. It’s perfect for watching TV or your favorite videos stored on the microSD card. The innovation comes from the One Click interface which allows users to place up to eight shortcuts onto the main screen.

The LX600 Lotus will be out in October at price of $149.99 with a two-year contract.

HTC Touch Diamond on Sprint from September

Just a quick question. Would you buy the if it would be on , if it were $299. Of course that’s the price after signing a contract for 2 years and getting all sorts of rebates, but I still think that’s a good deal.

The main specs include the TouchFLO 3D user interface, a full HTML (Opera) browser, a 3.2 megapixel camera, 4GB internal memory, stereo Bluetooth technology and EV-DO Rev. A. It’s running Windows Mobile 6.1 and is going to offer support for Outlook Email, Mobile E-mail (IMAP and POP3), Picture Mail, Navigation and Live Search, TV and Music Store.

I don’t think that’s a bargain but I think is really going the right way with this one. I’d definitely get mine with them.
