Jean-Michel Jarre, a pioneer when it comes to electronic music and also famous for those massive concerts that got record amounts of followers and used some of the most beautiful laser and firework games, has now designed some iPod Speakers. And looks really neat. Dubbed the AeroSystem it features two 20W RMS speakers and a 45W RMS subwoofer into a retro design that also packs a USB port and a 3.5mm jack. Though they look shinny and modern, I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be a real deal, because the cost for these iPod speakers are €450 (some $580). Plus, it’s only in France right now. – via Gadget Lab

If we’re to consider simply the shape, well you can say it somehow resembles with a kayak. Right? I don’t know exactly who got the inspiration to call it the Kayak speaker, but I also don’t care.

The guys at NACSound who designed it, managed to create something that really got my attention. Could it be because I’m renovating my apartment and I have to buy furniture and stuff? Probably. Most likely!

But what’s up with the Sonance Kayak Speaker? Apparently it can be installed both horizontally and vertically and it offers stereophonic sound from a single speaker thanks to an acoustic reflector suspended in the center. Output is decent I must say: 60W with a sensitivity of about 86dB.

There’s one smaaaall drawback to me buying it for my living room. It costs only $2,900

I’m not really sure if you are going to need a couple of crystal USB desktop speakers, but I’m going to mention them anyway. Why, you may ask? Because of the looks.

These crystal designed speakers can be connected to your PC or laptop via USB 2.0 and should output (only) 1 watt per channel even though, the producer considers them as “audiophile” grade. Talking about the producer, it’s not a big company or anything but even if it doesn’t sound THAT good we’ll take the looks for a $39.99 price.

Too bad we can’t get more specs from the manufacturer, except the “these are amazing speakers” line.

Yamaha is renowned for building HiFi speakers and the latest they’ve announced is the NS-6HX model. It’s a 3-way and 3-speaker bass-reflex floor standing tower speaker, includes a 20cm WSD cone woofer, a 13cm WSD midrange driver and a 3cm Aluminum dome tweeter. The weight is only 30.5 kgs and the dimensions of the new Yamaha NS-6HX are 364 x 1,062 x 397 mm.

If you’re paying very much attention to the sound quality you’ll probably get a pair of these ground standing speakers, if the $3,300 won’t scare you too much.
