Hot Legs Getting Electric Socks

Posted Monday, March 31st, 2008 by Alex Ion

Electric heated socks

The electric socks were designed to keep North Atlantic fishermen warm but I think we could use them, too. The socks are a mix between wool and polyester, with a few wires and resistors going down to under the ball of the foot. It’s actually some sort of battery-powered-heating beyond weirdness that will cost you $22 if you want it.

We’re waiting for the electric undies to keep the “guys” warm.

Pressure Point Massaging Socks

Chinese medicine is famous for explaining the way energy (chi/ki/qi) flows around the body through acupuncture meridians. Reflexology is the science of using foot pressure point massaging for either relaxing the whole body or detoxing certain areas or organs.

Reflexology - pressure massage - socks

Usually you need a professional to do all these but today I’ve just heard that Akaishi is selling some interesting pressure point massaging socks. Using reflexology theory principles, the socks claim to press key spots into the soles of your feet to eliminate lactic acid crystals accumulated in tired feet and keep the energy flowing again through the body.

The reflexology socks are selling for 1,890 Yen ($18.5).
