Sony KDL40V3000 LCD TV

Posted Monday, January 5th, 2009 by simon

This is part of Sony’s Bravia range of HD TVs and for a reasonable price you can get a host of quality features which make this a good mid-range choice. It is full HD 1080p so the resolution is very good at 1920×1080. The television comes with a built in digital freeview tuner so there’s no need for a separate box which is handy. It also has S Force Dolby Digital mock surround sound which emulates a 5.1 set-up without the extra speakers; however there is no real substitute for a decent surround sound set-up.

When it comes to watching movies this television is ideal and it includes a true cinema mode which runs at 24 frames per second to match movie footage correctly. The dynamic contrast goes up to 16000:1 and the color depth is good. You get all the usual inputs including 3 HDMI, 2 scart and a PC connection. At just over $1000 this is a good television for the money.

Armani-Samsung LCD TV

Armani-Samsung LCD TV

Not exactly the partnership I was expecting but it was unveiled in Milan these days and we need to keep you informed. Giorgio and Electronics teamed up to create a 46-inch 100Hz full HD display. Except for the “stylish” remote control and the 4-modes power switch that changes the light of the logos, there’s nothing that relates to fashion and I can’t find special elements.

Maybe the emits fragrances?
