An example of this can be seen in how small some of the new laptops are being made while making them faster than ever. When people think about making smaller, they don’t often think about making them the size of keyboards. That wasn’t true for the people at ASUS who have developed the Eee PC.

Any laptop user knows how hard it can be to be so close to your screen when typing. This often causes eye strain and can make you more tired than you actually are. As someone who practically lives on their laptop I know that I suffer from horrible headaches. Well has come up with a new that makes working on your laptop more comfortable (it also works great with desktops). Their new Arc is about the same size as a 15 inch laptop and allows you to sit wherever you want because it is .

The Arc is thin and lightweight making it easy to move all around the house or wherever you take your laptop. The Nano Transmitter can be left in your or neatly stored under the by being snapped in. Since it is , you will have to buy batteries to run it. There is an on/off button that will allow you to conserve the battery life when not using the . It also has a two color battery indicator to warn people when to replace the batteries. With a four way directional pad, you get the benefit of arrow keys while not taking up space. The function is 2.4GHz which will allow you to move up to 15 feet away from the transmitter. This is a must for anyone who suffers from eye strain and headaches from using their computers.

Glass Keyboard with Camers instead of Keys

Glass keyboard concept

I’m pretty sure this won’t get to see the light, it’s good to see one every once in a while. Designer Kong Fanwen came up with what seems to be the ideal and though it’s not the most practical I’ve ever seen, the “No-key ” sure looks great. It uses the latest motion capture technology to watch your fingers’ movement and keystrokes, because this little one has cameras instead of keys.

The things I would enjoy most about Kong’s is that it is waterproof (and I can spill tea or coffee) and comes with some snazzy lighting options to find those non-existent keys in the dark.

Apple anti-Caps-Lock Campaign on Their New Keyboards?

Apple anti-Caps-Lock Campaign on Their New Keyboards?

Yesterday I’ve heard some nice Apple news, from Jonathan Rentzsch, that said the new metallic keyboards (he bought one) have something against Caps Lock. The first thing that came into my mind was that this would be a manufacturing problem so I started to read about it and I found out that lots of people have the same problem.

To make it clear, the new Apple keyboards are taking ages and require a good bear press on the button to turn Caps Lock on, and will only need a you blow air upon it, to turn off. The matter was confirmed by so many other consumers so that brought me to the idea of an campaign that Steve Jobs is doing. I wonder if people scream at the office!
I am not saying that Caps Lock is a good thing, but if you think that you get to pay $47 for the wired version of the , and $79 for the , wouldn’t you want all your keys to work perfectly?
