The Phone That Splits Into Two Pieces

Posted Tuesday, September 30th, 2008 by Alex Ion

I’ve always expected the days when our gadgets will be able to split into even more gadgets. Apparently the guys at and Fujitsu did too, because they’ve just released at CEATEC a concept design that allows it to split into two pieces which both feature separate screens and keyboard segments, communicate via Bluetooth and stay together using some strong magnets.

It looks like a very slick design but I do wonder if there are other people like me who’d be interested in owning one, because everyone these days want to minimize the number of gadgets or electronics we’re carrying. Would you like one? Would your friends (girlfriends) be impressed ?

NTT DoCoMO Unveils Prototype Phone That Monitors Your Health

NTT DoCoMo Wellness Phone

With so many mobile phones launched each day it’s hard to keep track of them and remember what each of them feature, but that’s not the case with ’s (NYSE:DCM) latest phone that is apparently able to monitor your health functions just like a smart treadmill.

The could be quite useful because thanks to a motion sensor inside, it knows if you’re resting, running or climbing, can calculate if and how many calories you’ve burnt, takes your pulse and tells your body fat. There are two more things this little gadget could to for you: breath analyzer and stress analyzer. Blow into it and it will tell you a few things about your breathing, or answer a few questions and it will tell you if you’re stressed out or not.

The from is still in developing phase because they have a lot of testing to do before they release it to the market and also want to add a few key features like calorie intake and ability to track meals. Sounds like a winner to me because I can’t wait to be more disciplined with eating and sports.
