Olympus Stylus 770 SW Compact Camera

Posted Thursday, November 13th, 2008 by TechGeek

Today I decided to review one of my all time favorite cameras. I had the older version of this for about 18 months; it got stolen while on holidays about 4 weeks ago. This is great for those of us that like to drop our cameras, take under water pictures. The is said to be able to take a tanks weight without breaking. If you aren’t interested in a water proof or the shock proof then you should probably stay clear of this .

The only real drawback to this is the LCD screen, it’s very small and I would have liked to have seen a larger screen in the new model.

BenQ DC C1060 compact camera

It’s been a while since our last digital , here on DevicePedia, so what I’m about to show you today is the new BenQ . It’s a with a slightly different design than the C1050 that BenQ released last month with specs that are just about the same.

Packed with the new BenQ , there’s a 10 megapixel sensor, a 2.7-inch LCD display, 3x optical zoom, a “Super Shake Free” system for those with shaky hands, the Smile Catch technology (some sort of face detection) and the ability to record video at 720 x 400 or 640 x 480. Other than these tech specs, the new style of the C1060 includes a leather texture grip which, trust me, feels great in your hand.

There’s no release date or a price, yet, but we’ll keep you posted.

It can capture video in VGA mode at 30 fps (avi format), has SD and SDHC cards, weighs 0.4 pounds and from March it should sell for $460, in black and silver.

Ricoh R50 on the other hand, only features a 5x optical zoom though it has the same sensor with shift image stabilization like the above while the LCD is not offering the same hi-res display. is slimmer than the and the price is $280. It’s going to be available in March as well.
