Samsung SpinPoint S166 - silent and speedy

The new 3.5-inch SpinPoint S166 series from Samsung are the bigger brother of SilentSeekTM and NoiseGuardTM that make them faster with less noise. The two models, one with 80GB storage and the other one with 160GB are really silent with 24 decibels and respectively 27.5 decibels, and if you take a look here you will understand that they are fast and furious but not noisy. The new SpinPoint S166 series of hard drives from Samsung are 7200rpm, SATA 3.0 GBps and have 8MB buffers. Both the 80GB and the 160GB drives will start shipping from April.
