We seem to need more and more storage and memory manufacturers are happy to satisfy our increasing hungre for GB with their products. One of such products is the LaCie Skwarmin portable hard disk that brings 60 GB storage in a 3.5 oz./ 99 g packaging.
The first thing you notice at this device is the simple, yet cool design based on a square shape (3.3″ x 3.3″ x 0.5″ / 85 x 85 x 13 mm). But is not the look that interest us when searching for portable storage as we look more for functionality. On this side we have to tell you the hard drive is running at 4500 rpm (revolutions per minute), hence assuring speeds up to 20MB/s, way bellow the 480Mbits/s the USB 2.0 connections supports.

Mobility and smallness comes at a cost and the 60 GB of storage are priced at $179.99 by the producer.
