Iomega launched two StorCenter Pro NAS 150d storage solutions for small businesses and for advanced home users. The first 1TB model features four hot-swappable SATA II 250GB hard drives and the 2TB model is based on four hot-swappable SATA II 500GB. However the formatted NAS capacity will be subject to RAID operation configurations : RAID 0 (striping), RAID1 (mirroring), RAID5 (striping plus parity).

A nice feature of the StorCenter Pro NAS 150d Server models is that they are really hot swappable, meaning that at any given moment if a hard drive is removed and replaced with another one while in operation, it “will rebuild the new drive into the existing RAID 1 or 5 array without any interuptionor downtime”, Iomega announced. Both models are fast and quiet, feature a printer connector with USB 2.0, and have Gigabit Ethernet port speeds. As for compatible operating systems,it supports Windows, Linux, Unix or Mac and thanks to the Iomega Discovery Tool, setup is pretty instant.

Release date is January 23rd, so they should be available already in stores for the price of $799 for the 1TB model, and $1499 for the 2TB model.
