Fujitsu breaks records for laptop hard drives
Posted March 6th, 2007 by Alex Ion
It’s been a while since we had news about the hard drives industry. When it comes to storage it’s not that fun like cell phones or Apple rumors, but today Fujitsu announced the first 2.5-inch laptop hard drive that will be able to keep 160GB of your data and hit the 7200rpm mark. This is a big and a fast box for your laptop and with a serial ATA 3.0 Gb/s interface. The new Fujitsu MHW2 BJ series are very quiet when idle and the power consumption is 2.3 watts which is just about average, and they are also RoHS compliant. This is a very good news in the notebooks market where laptops are more and more demanded so of course the standards should increase. Release date is set for May 2007.
