Wolverine ESP 5160 – the 160GB multimedia storage player
Posted March 1st, 2007 by Alex Ion
Multimedia freedom or portability is no longer a problem. Wolverine ESP 5160 is the monster storage multimedia player that features 160GB for you photos, videos or music. I don’t think that there are people that will say 160GB is not enough, because I will take personal actions against it, because it can store either 80,000 digital photos, more than 320 hours of video clips or 50,000 songs. It’s bigger than my laptop’s hard disk drive. Huge! There is another thing that gets my attention, the 8 Ohms – 400mW speaker to play music or videos out loud.
The new Wolverine ESP 5160 has a 3.6-inch razor sharp TFT LCD with and resolution of 320×240, plus a very impressive built-in memory slots for Compact Flash, Secure Digital, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, XD Card Adapter that would transfer at 5MB/s speeds. The new Wolverine ESP 5160 is able to play MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV, AAC (MP4-audio) & CDA files, it can display JPEG, Bitmap, Tiff, Text and RAW images and the best thing of all, it’s smart enough to connect it directly to the printer for printing or to your digital camera to transfer them.

The cables provided with the new Wolverin ESP 5160, you can connect it to any TV or projector or to your stereo system. You can also use it as a digital video recorder if you buy the optional Cradle System, to record from TV, camcorder, DVD or VCR. The battery is not impressive if I think of the big screen display that would eat a lot from the 2300 mAh Lithium Ion rechargeable battery.
Just like the PocketSynch guys stated, I am also concerned on the weight: 7lbs they say, which is kind of hard to believe if we see that the dimensions are 5.3 x 2.8 x 0.9-inches. Let’s hope we get our hands on it soon, to make a proper review. The price is not cheap, you will have to pay $549.99 to get yourself this monster.
