Toshiba’s Idea Of A MP3 Player

Posted March 6th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

For today I chose to review a Toshiba MP3 player to see what the famous hardware manufacturer has to offer in this area and out of their products I chose the gigabeat MEV30K model. The first thing I noticed while looking at Toshiba’s V Series Portable Media Player was the 3.5″ color LCD display that is slightly larger than in the case of its competitors. However, as you can see from the picture, the larger display doesn’t come with an increase in the overall size and the design of this device is quite nice.

But enough about the design as it is time to find out more about the features of Toshiba’s product. Here, another good news comes from the storage capacity which reaches 30 GB, due to the 1.8″ hard drive. That is enough disc space for plenty of your music, pictures or videos and the rechargeable Li-Ion battery can permit you to watch up to 8 hours of video on the QVGA (320×240) TFT screen.

You forgot your headphones home? No need to be upset as the gigabeat has a built-in speaker and you can also stream media from it directly to your TV due to the included output port. And speaking about connectivity, the device allows you to simply connect a digital camera using the USB port and you instantly have access at the pictures there without the need for a computer.

All this are cool features, but they usually tend to cost too much. Well, I think in the case of the MEV30K a $299.99 price is not so high considering the advantages.
