The New SSD From Transcend
Posted April 2nd, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu
Solid State Drives (SSD) industry had quite some publicity this first months of 2007 and that is not going to end here as Transcend just released such a product with the ExpressCard/34 SSD.

The newly released device can be used with notebooks that have an ExpressCard compatible slot, but it’s meant to be an add-on and not a replacement for a regular magnetic storage disc. But that is not all for the Transcend ExpressCard/34 SSD as it can also be used as a regular memory stick. Furthermore, users with Windows Vista installed on their computers can use the ReadyBoost function of this device to speed up their systems.
Shipping in the 4 versions (2/4/8/16 GB) the Transcend ExpressCard/34 SSD is shipped together with an ExpressCard to USB adapter.

Available at http://www.dvnation.com/nand-flash-ssd.html . Pricing is good. The 16GB is half the price of the other 16GB SSDs on the site. They got about 100 different SSDs there. Never seen anything like it!
