Panasonic Toughbooks

Like they say, you never need a plug to be completely plugged in. Panasonic launched super long battery life notebooks, ultra slim and very light, the Business-rugged Panasonic Toughbook. It allows to stay connected by using the wireless LAN and optional wireless WAN without any wires needed.
What’s the best thing into these Panasonic notebooks is the design of the case and the batteries. Of course we can add the fact that they are Sprint Rev A Ev-Do compatible offering download speeds from 450 to 800kbps which is a big advantage.

The Toughbook T5 is in fact a tablet PC with a touchscreen LCD, a 10 hour lasting battery and shock mounted HDD. The Toughbook W5 is a ultra-light weight (3.1 lbs) with an 8+ hours battery life. There is also the Toughbook Y5 with a 14.1″ LCD, 3.7 lbs weight and full magnesium alloy case. The Toughbooks will be launched in January 2007 and will have an estimated price of $2,200.
Are they trying to beat Sony Vaio? What do you think?
