“Model02″ UMPC Is Vista Ready
Posted January 13th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu
For those of you who don’t know UMPC stands for Ultra Mobile PC (smaller than lapotpos) and “model O2″ is the name of a new device developed by OQO. Looking back at the title you may deduce I am going to talk about a small portable computer that is ready for the next Microsoft OS (operating system): Windows Vista.

As Windows Vista is a very demanding OS this device is very potent, having a 1.5 GHz processor 1Gb of RAM and a 60 GB hard drive. The product also incorporates a Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g, an Ethernet adapter, and Bluetooth v2.0 standard. Sounds like a great configuration for a laptop, but this device is way smaller at 5.5″ x 3.3″ x 1.0″.The only downsize is the small LCD monitor of only 5″ running a resolution of 800×480, but it is limited by the overall dimensions of the UMPC.
The model02 I presented today is priced at $1849, but lower prices are available for lighter versions of the product starting from $1499. For further details on prices and features please visit the producer’s webpage.
