iRiver X20 series is on the way

Posted February 17th, 2007 by Alex Ion

iRiver X20 is not a myth anymore, it’s the real thing, and the new portable media player from iRiver will be available from March with 2GB, 4GB and 8GB internal memory. If that is not enough for you the new X20 comes with support for microSD cards so that you can easily carry music, pictures or clips. It weights only 71grams and the size is 98.5×49x14.8mm featuring a 2.2-inch QVGA TFT liquid crystal display with 260k colors.

iRiver X20 will play many types of music files (MP3, WMA and OGG) and MPEG-4 and WMV video files. For making it sound better it will use a 5 pre-set equalizer types (classic, pop, rock, jazz and normal). The built-in microphone is very useful when you just need something to record important meetings, minutes report or school courses. It uses Windows Media Player 11 or iRiver plus3 and it can be connected to the PC via an USB port or can connect directly to the internet to download songs. As for the battery, you should know that it can play up to 22 hours with a fully charged battery. Not bad.

Release date is set for March, and now let’s talk prices. The 2GB will cost around $155, 4GB for $190 and the 8GB version of iRiver X20 will be somewhere near $250. Would you drop your iRiver Clix now? Tough question huh?
