iAudio F2

Posted February 11th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

Cowon has quite a family of portable players and I thought to add another one in the DevicePedia, our encyclopedia of technology devices. As a consequence I will be writing on the iAudio F2, a product that looks more like a mobile phone as it borrowed the candy-bar design with a 1.3″ LCD display and a bunch of buttons under it.

I must confess this design doesn’t impresses me at all, but the specifications certainly tell a different story. The amount of multimedia files this device can play is enormous, as it offers support for the audio files (MP3, WMA, OGG, etc.), video files and text files available on the 2 GB built-in memory. An FM tuner is present and Cowon included the option of recording sound files from the radio stations, but, if needed, audio recording is available from the microphone and the line in input port as well.

All in all not a bad product, but it could have done better with a sexier slim design.
