A Portable Media Center From Philips

It is Philips who thinks the PMC7230 is a portable media center and I thought of evaluating this statement to see if there is any truth there.
At a first look this is a portable media device similar to the other video and audio enabled devices on the market. It has the common features of its competitors like playback for most of the music and video files and a wide 3.5″ LCD display, a large storage capacity provided by an 30 GB hard drive, but it also benefits from a small speaker which could make the headphones obsolete.
However there is more to the PMC7230 as it capable of recording shows from a TV channel and even schedule the recording for a specific show. There are two resolutions available for video recording 640×480 & 340×240 and audio recording is also possible. Yet I have not found any indications of an FM radio tuner on this device and I think that is definitely a drawback.
I will let you decide if the PMC7230 from Philips is a real media center or not. Even if I am impressed by the features I have found in this device, I still think there should be some minor improvements to it.
