8 GB SDHC Card Unveiled

At the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) Show in Las Vegas, SanDisk announced today the SanDisk Ultra II SD High Capacity (SDHC) memory card. Targeting the digital photography and video recording market this new card offers write SanDisk Ultra II SD High Capacity (SDHC)  memory card and SanDisk MicroMate USB 2.0 readerspeeds of 9 MB/s and read speeds of 10MB/s.

Even if the SDHC and SD cards are identical in shape and size, the new card can’t be used with devices that support only SD, so people are advised to verify the compatibility before making a buy. The new card ships with a free SanDisk MicroMate USB 2.0 reader, which allows transfer of files from and to SD/SDHC cards using a PC’s USB port. The package containing the reader and a 8 GB SDHC card will be available from June at a price of $239.99.
