Trojan Virus to Take Advantage of The Storms in Europe
Posted January 20th, 2007 by Alex Ion
Looks like a lot of people are exploiting recent storms in Europe so that they can send malicious emails containing a trojan virus. Thousands and thousands of computers have been infected over the last 48 hours with titles such as “230 dead as storm batters Europe” or “U.S. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice has kicked German Chancellor” and have attached files such as “Full Video.exe” or “Full Story.exe”. They infect the computers and then they wait for more instructions, unlike other trojan viruses that seek new hosts instantly.
Do not let yourself fooled by such news even if they are of great importance, with latest breaking news announcing 40 people dead. Dave Cole of Symantec Security Response said they’ve spotted the infection since Wednesday and that “it’s not a small threat, but it isn’t an epidemic either”
