Toshiba Qosmio HD DVD-R Notebook

Posted January 17th, 2007 by Mihnea Boiangiu

Toshiba is going to launch in February the first notebook that will support writing HD DVD-R. The progress is outstanding, because its users can burn as much as 30GB of data on a single HD DVD disc.

The new Qosmio model will be an upgrade of the existing Qosmio G30. Some of the present models already contain a HD DVD reader, but the new G30/97A offers you the possibility to store data on your own HD DVD disc.

The laptop is based on an Intel 2-GHz Core 2 Duo processor and is equipped with a 17-inch wide-screen display with 1920 by 1280 pixel resolution. This means it is suited for high-definition images from HD DVD movie discs. Other great features of this Toshiba notebook are: a 320GB hard drive, a digital TV tuner and HDMI output.

Toshiba will deliver the new Qosmio with Windows Microsoft Vista Premium operating system. The price wasn’t announced yet, but you should know it can be a little higher for the average consumer. We see this notebook more like a professional tool than for home using. All in all it seems to be a great device for home entertainment as well as for professional use.
