The USB Flashbag

Posted January 4th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

Do you see something different about the flash drives in the image below? Don’t they resemble usual flash drives? Let me tell you this are ordinary flash drives with a little twist. Actually in the picture there is just one drive but at two different moments: when it was an empty drive, and when it was full with data.

The Flashbag

The creators of this device thought of incorporating a small pump that will modify the volume of the drive depending on the amount of data it holds. So when you run out of memory the you will see your stick ready to burst just like the one in the picture above.

According to the producers you can asses the amount of data you can copy on your memory drive by estimating its size. I myself keep my flash memory almost full and I would not like such a feature mainly because that would take more space in my pocket, but if you want more details on the product you can visits this site where you can find other fun designs for this idea.
