Sony Announces Downloadable Content Service

A new online service will offer movies, music and games on a wide range of Sony products. Much like the PS3 online content Sony are rolling out the system to support Bravia TVs, their e-book Readers, and even Cyber-Shot digital cameras. The company is expected to announce another loss this year but they are working hard to fight back against the opposition and expanding their online services is a big part of that. They are also expected to expand their offerings online which already include streaming video, downloadable music and games, news and comics.
There are currently over 30 million users for the PS3 online service and Sony hope to build more brand loyalty by rolling out the same system across the whole range of products. This development should increase the value of their entire product range and since things are generally moving towards more streaming and downloadable content it seems to be a wise move.
