PlayStation 3 is in Europe
Posted March 23rd, 2007 by Mihnea BoiangiuSony launched the PS3 in Europe. The game console was expected very well in London, where the fans went mad. Sony offered free HDTV for a PS3 purchase at the launch last night. Sony Entertainment UK gave out £250,000 in TVs for London event.

But the launch on the continent wasn’t so successful as expected. In Paris, the streets around La Tour Eiffel were almost empty. There the event should take place. But the Sony officials only found some Xbox 360 banners. The Microsoft’s console was the main attraction for the press come to see the Sony’s launching.
In Spain, PS3 consoles were sold for half price, but today the price remain the same on the stores shelves - 600 euros. To sum up, I would say the PS3 wasn’t approaching the performances from the previous launches on the Japanese market or the American market. Probably in Europe, people don’t play so intense.
