NV-U70 Helps You Find Your Way

Posted February 11th, 2007 by Marius Trusculescu

Maps are slowly becoming obsolete and GPS navigation devices (the replacers), are already very common. As the competition on this market is constantly growing, new features have been added to this devices to the point where the extra features have become more important than actually the navigation and that is not necessarily a good thing. Consequently I have decided to write a review on simple GPS device (the NV-U70 from Sony) that only helps you find your way and it doesn’t include gaming, music playback or other cool functionalities.

NV-U70 GPS satellite navigation device

The satellite navigation system features a 1 GB of flash memory in which the maps and the huge number of points of interest (gas stations, hotels) are stored. Build on a simple design the product, has a built-in antenna, a 3.5″ color touchscreen LCD display with adjustable brightness and an included speakers system for delivering the audio directions. The 4 hour battery lifetime is the major downside of the NV-U70, but this is true for all the satellite navigation devices.

If you are looking just for a simple, easy-to-use GPS navigation device this certainly is one of the strongest candidates as it offers a decent image size and a simple UI (user interface) that is not packed with extra functions.
