Nintendo Wii radio contest has devastating results

Posted January 19th, 2007 by Alex Ion

KTND-FM radio station’s water-drinking contest for winning a Nintendo Wii, “Hold your Wee, for a Wii” on Friday’s morning program had a bad result. Jennifer Strange, age 28 died of water intoxication after drinking the most water out of all the contestants. What’s really annoying is that a few DJs were making jokes about people dying from drinking excessive watter and joked about Jennifer, mother of three.
She felt bad after the contest, called and sick with serious headaches and 5 hours later s was found dead in her home. All these were for a $295 contest prize. Worth it? Definately NOT!! 10 employees of the station have been fired and the “Morning Rave” program got canceled. Keep in mind that by drinking excessive water you can lose vital fluids that can cause you hear irregularities, seizures, comas or just like in our case, death. The Nintendo Wii is not worth to die for. Family will sue the radio station.
