New AMD Processors Hit The Market

The AMD64 family of processors just got bigger with the introduction of two new single-core CPU’s (the 3500+ and 3800+ ) and the dual-core Athlon 64 X2 6000+. Based on the 65nm technology, the new single-core AMD Athlon 64 3500+ and 3800+ are targeted at providing better performance-per-watt as they require just 45 W.
On the other hand the Athlon 64 X2 6000+ is a direct competitor for the most powerful Intel processors on the market. However, the new AMD processor fails to beat the highest ranked Intel counterpart in performance but it might prove a worthy competitor if we take into consideration the prices and the performance-per-watt AMD achieves.
As for the availability, the new processors have already been released on the market at prices of $88 and $93 for the 3500+, respectively 3800+, while the Athlon 64 X2 6000+ is priced at $464. (All the prices are for 1000 units orders.)
