Google Tackles Social Media with Buzz

Since there is still a significant amount of traffic out there and Google haven’t yet managed to capture all of it they have decided to take on the social media websites with a new service called Google Buzz. The Buzz interface is integrated into Gmail and it allows you to link together various accounts such as Google Reader, Twitter, Picasa and Flickr into one big stream or torrent depending on how manageable your group of online friends is.
The idea is not just to offer access to the info in one place but you can also rate it so it learns what you do and don’t want to know about. You can also see things your friends liked even if they aren’t from friends of yours. Buzz is also going to be available on mobile devices so you can catch up on the move. Apparently you can choose to make posts public but this allows them to be searched and viewed by anyone. Will it take off?
