Google Becomes a Mobile Virtual Network Operator in the UK?

Posted May 22nd, 2007 by Alex Ion

Google PhoneWe’ve had lots of rumors that mentioned Google to enter the mobile phones market, with the Google Phone or by partnering with LG but they always ended up in the air. Nothing for sure. However, this time TechCrunch has someone credible from what they say, that Google will become a Mobile Virtual Network Operator in the UK. That’s a nice way of getting more users for the GoogleMobile applications, right? I mean if you just want more users, become an operator, that way you will surely get some!
I am really curious if they will do it this time, because rumors say they will partner with O2, so in just a few weeks it can go live. Phones that will be used would be Nokia.

Need to see what better service Google will offer, because if they have some sick ideas like contextual advertising during calls. Imagine talking to your girlfriend and get a lady voice to sell you lingerie? That’s something I wouldn’t want … Wish Google luck, with the rumor this time. - ALEX ION
