Dog Translator Hits the Market

Have you ever wondered what your dog is saying? Well what you need is the Bowlingual Voice, a talking gadget from Japan which claims to translate your dog’s barks into human language. Unfortunately that language is Japanese which may leave many of you none the wiser and there are sadly no plans to develop an English speaking version. Makers Takara Tomy are actually a toy company and they claim the device can detect six distinct dog moods including sadness, joy, alertness, danger, neediness, happiness and frustration.
The dog wears a small microphone around his or her neck and you have a wireless handheld device which translates the broadcasted sound and speaks to you. It even has an answering machine service so your dog can record messages for you while you are at work. The original model was actually developed over 7 years ago and has apparently sold over 300,000 units in Japan. This new model features sound for the first time with the dog’s thoughts spoken aloud to you. Here’s a demo video.
