BlackBerry 8830 World Edition officially announced

Verizon Wireless and RIM have announced officially the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition. The smartphone works in the dual-mode CDMA/GSM. The 8830 model is using a SIM card and is able to switch between the two networks offering international coverage. You will enjoy fast data transfer, because the phone is EV-DO capable.

The BlackBerry 8830 gave up to the black color in favor of the silver one. Being a smartphone, BlackBerry 8830 World Edition comes with many utilities like: media player, speakerphone, voice-activated dialing, conference calling, 64MB internal memory and microSD slot. Moreover the mobile features a Bluetooth with dial-up networking capabilities (tethered or wireless) and the BlackBerry push e-mail solution with support for Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino, or Novell GroupWise.

For all those who expect this mobile, we have some good news. The BlackBerry 8830 World Edition can be ordered starting from May 14th through direct sales channels and in retail stores starting May 28. The price goes at $299.99 with two years contract in Verizon network. - MIHNEA BOIANGIU
