The latest notebooks from Acer, the Acer Aspire 3811TZ and the Acer Aspire 3811TZG are environmentally friendly. They are energy efficient, recyclable and biodegradable which has won the company plaudits from Greenpeace. Both notebooks are free of PVCs and BFRs which are commonly used and have been criticized for emitting toxic substances. This is a deliberate move by Acer to ensure their products are not contributing to environmental damage when disposed of, which is a very positive step considering the growing e-waste problem.
In addition the new devices use up to 40% less power than traditional notebook devices and they still support up to 8 hours of use from a single charge. Acer are still lagging behind in terms of disposal and recycling intiaitives but these notebooks go some way towards their aim of eliminating PVCs and BFRs from all of their products. The notebooks are also designed to be modular so components can be replaced to extend the life of the product.
