4 GB Memory Stick Micro Card

After the introduction of the 8 GB SDHC card and the 4 GB Micro SD card, SanDisk just unveiled a new 4 GB Micro Stick (M2) memory card. Referring to these newly announced storage solutions Norm Frentz, director of marketing at SanDisk’s stated: “This is the threshold at which mobile phones provide enough capacity to become the user’s all-in-one portable4 GB M2 Memory Stick Mico Card music player, camcorder, photo album and video player”.
SanDisk insisted on the compatibility with Sony-Ericsson mobile phones and the availability of this device to provide more storage for the Walkman or Cybershot handsets. With the help of a Memory Stick PRO Duo adapter the new card can be used with M2 card that have a Memory Stick slot.
The new 4 GB memory card will be available for OEM’s starting May 2007, but for customers we don’t have a definite date yet for availability as SanDisk mentioned it would be later this year. No price has been announced either.
