New Phones From Sony-Ericsson
Posted February 6th, 2007 by Marius TrusculescuToday it was a big day at Sony-Ericssons as they unveiled a lot of new phones. Starting with 4 low-entry candybar
handsets and finishing with the new W880 and W888 based on the Walkman concept. As it was a busy day we decided just to take a look at these new products now, but be sure we will soon come back on them with more detailed descriptions.
Addressing the demand for cheap quality phones on the emerging countries Sony-Ericsson presented today the K200, K220, J110 and the J120 candy bar phones. Equipped only with just VGA cameras or FM radios the features on these phones are low in the multimedia domain as they are built with the main purpose of making calls.
Moving into a pricier area we find the new W880/W888 and W610 mobile phones targeted at completing the Walkman series. With the accent being put on the music playing, the new handsets will be shipped with include memory sticks of either 512 MB or 1 GB, and they will also include 2.0 MP digital camera. Regarding the availability of
this products, Sony-Ericsson said the W880 and the W888 will ship starting this very quarter, while the 610 will make its debut in the 2nd quarter of this year.
Impressive number of new comers for just one day? That is not all as the mobile phone manufacturer also announced new handsets in the digital photography domain, just like with the music based Walkman phones. I am talking about the new k880/k818 and k550/k550im that will join the successful Cyber-Shot series. Shipping with smaller sized memory sticks then the Walkman counterparts, the new K880/818 and the K550/550im will incorporate a 3.2 respectively 2.0 MP digital cameras and radio FM tuners.
A lot of new phones on one day from only one producers and this is way I didn’t gave you a more detailed description on this handsets. However if you will revisit DevicePedia be sure you will find more detailed articles in the following days.
