SoMo 650

The smartphone in discussion is produced by Socket Mobile. After I have written about Zenum Opus Operis, now I found another interesting device: SoMo 650. This one doesn’t have a QWERTY keyboard, but the LCD screen is larger - 3.5″. Because the keyboard is missing, Socket Mobile equipped the device with a Stylus. SoMo 650 is powered by an Intel PXA270 @ 624 MHz processor and 128 MB RAM. It runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Premium Edition.

Being a business mobile, SoMo 650 has pre-loaded office utilities like Word, Excel, Outlook and MSN Messenger Client. Also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 are present. The built-in microphone and speaker will enhance the multimedia capabilities. However, the smartphone doesn’t have a camera, which I think is really necessary our days. Maybe a few years ago, it wouldn’t be a problem, but today most of the technology consumers are looking for devices with camera. The SoMo 650 is priced at $650 according to Uberphones.
