Sandisk iNAND - 8GB embedded flash drive

Posted February 14th, 2007 by Alex Ion

Sandisk iNAND - 8GB embedded flash driveSandisk is launching their new flash drive, fully JEDEC-compliant (Join Electron Device Engineering Council) the 8GB iNand. This is an SD bus-compatible designed for small places like mobile phones, media players, PDAs or GPS devices thanks to its small dimensions, which can be set, however, even lower.

David Tolub of Sandisk said during 3GSM (thanks to TechDigest):

At 8GB, iNAND, with its new JEDEC standard ball-out which is also supported by a wide range of other consumer electronics products, opens up a new range of opportunities for iNAND beyond the millions of mobile handsets and consumer electronics products where it is already used.

They are testing the product now, so there should be some time until we see it at work, expected to be the third quarter of 2007, if the evaluation tests come up right.
