I was always jealous on the Asian consumers, and especially on the (south) Koreans, because they seem to have the latest and the best products in technology domain. The new IM-U170 mobile phone comes as a confirmation of that trend and even if it is only available on the Korean market I am sure you won’t mind a seeing some of its features.

Putting the obvious beautiful stylish design aside I will focus on the specifications of this sexy metallic clamshell handset. The main display of the device is a 2.2″ QVGA LCD offering true vibrant colors (260k) and being accompanied by a small simple OLED exterior screen with only 1 line. Functioning as an mp3 player as well, the IM-U170 has a pretty large 120 MB storage capacity for a mobile phone.

The multimedia capabilities don’t stop here as the device has a 2MP digital camera for taking beautiful pictures, and another VGA (640×480) camera for video conferences. However, the true innovation of this device comes from the face recognition abilities, the camera being able to see the movement of your face and even use this input as a controller when games.

I must confess I really like this slim clamshell and I would certainly want one for myself, but unfortunately the device is not yet available outside South Korea.
