The Japanese manufacturer NTT DoCoMo has launched a new video telephony service for social welfare. The device is available on the Japanese market for the elders, sick or handicapped people. It is very easy to use, because it features automatic dialing and automatic answer in video mode. The Foma video phone sports a 7″ touchscreen display, a 1.3-megapixel CMOS camera and a remote control. When in panic situations the individuals should trigger the red button of the remote which will automatically dial a pre-programmed emergency number. NTT DoCoMo’s service is available 24/7 because the device stay connected on NTT’s network for health care and emergency situations. We don’t know anything about the pricing yet.
