NTT DoCoMo FOMA F903iBSC Handset For Business
Posted March 14th, 2007 by Marius TrusculescuNTT DoCoMo unveiled today a new 3G clamshell targeted at the businessmen class. Benefiting from a stylish yet serious design the small phone (102 x 50 x 24 mm, 131 grams) comes in the nero color (a fancy word for something that for me seems black).
Unlike regular clamshells the FOMA F903iBSC has no exterior display, only 2.4″ QVGA (240 x 320 dots) color TFT LCD screen. And that is not the only thing different about this mobile phone. Built with the focus on security the device lacks features that are usually included in normal handsets. There is no digital camera, nu music player, no JAVA based applications, no external memory, no USB or Infrared connectivity and the phonebook can host just 101 contacts that can be deleted remotely if the device is stolen. Moreover the FOMA F903iBSC can be locked upon shut down and biometric fingerprint or passwords can be used to have access to the phone’s functions again.
The FOMA F903iBSC business will be available starting March 19 in Japan, but it won’t be sold to regular DoCoMo shops as only the DoCoMo corporate business division will sell it.
