Nokia E63 Business Phone: Retouched E71!

Posted November 27th, 2008 by Alex Ion

Nokia’s E63 business phone has been finally made official and while it was long coming, the feeling among many is that it is nothing but the E71 retouched with a reduced price tag and added entertainment features.

Not that Nokia has done something bad by going that way with the E63 which offers quad-band 3G with GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, A2DP Bluetooth and even Infrared as connectivity options. The QWERTY keyboard and the Symbian 9.2 S60 version 3.2 software that it runs on are the same as those with E71 earlier but it is the new touch sensitive Navi-Wheel which encircles the traditional d-pad, that makes the difference.

The 2 megapixel camera along with a 3.5mm jack plug, media player and an FM radio make Nokia E63 a bit of an entertainment option when you get bored with work. The 8GB memory card slot should be sufficient for your office needs. Battery life has been upped to 432 hours standby and 11 hours talktime, compared to the E71, while the metal exterior has been dropped for a plastic casing which reduces weight.

All in all, if you do not already own an E71, then wait for the E63 to come around.
