Motorola RIZR Z6 Linux based phone

Motorola has announced a new starlet at CES 2007. Motorola RIZR Z6 will be available from this quarter. The phone looks similar with RIZR Z3, but it has some new featuresMotorola RIZR Z6 including Linux based operating system. The mobile has a 2 megapixel VGA camera with flash. The 2-inch display offers good performance with its 262k colors.

The 64MB internal memory can be expandable through microSD card slot. RIZR Z6 support a wide range of audio files DRM, MP3, AAC, AAC+, AAC+ enhanced, AMR NB, WAV and XMF. It has Windows Media Player 11 and Linux based OS. Other important features are Bluetooth with A2DP stereo support, dedicated music key and USB port. The cellphone supports GPRS and EDGE.

The producers didn’t provide news about the price nor about the mobile operators that will use the phone. However, we have some info due to the phone will be available in Cingular network.

      Well the Linux is a Motorola Platform. So I would suppose it’s something changed into it. And yes it’s true. The Motorola Linux platform, supports Windows Media Player 11 and Windows Media DRM
