This is the Android 2.0 powered Motorola Droid. It is a stunning smart phone with a 3.7 inch touch screen and a slide out full QWERTY keyboard. Additional features include a 5 megapixel camera and camcorder, support for Bluetooth stereo music, Wi-Fi networking and it works as a multi format digital audio player. It has 3G connectivity and you’ll get 6.4 hours of talk time from a fully charged battery or up to 270 hours of standby.
The real reason to get a Droid is the Google services available through the Android operating system. First off you can access Google Maps with navigation for voice prompted turn-by-turn directions. Then there’s Google search for web browsing, Google Talk, Gmail and access to YouTube and Picasa. You can pick up apps from the Android Market and the Droid supports multiple apps running at once. The fast, voice activated Google search is another nice touch. If you pick it up with Verizon service you can get the handset for $149.99.
