Dropped your gadgets in the toilet, save them with uncooked rice!

Toilet dropped Blackberry saved with riceIt could be true. It looks like a reporter from the Washington Post that dropped his Blackberry in a toilet, managed to make it work after keeping it in a container with rice (of course, turned off). This could be a true story if we think that the rice is a good moisture eater.

Though many of you will say you don’t need rice, you just need to get the battery out so that you avoid short-circuiting, rice could really help to dry out faster. However, other methods, like keeping it in the sun or with a fan pointing at it, are also good. Instead of rice you can also use silica gel, which is also good for moisture.

Now I wonder if the reporter really dropped the phone in the toilet, “accidentally”, or he just wanted to test rice, and to get a nice article in the paper.
