Blackberry Pearl. Small, Smart and Stylish!

Posted December 21st, 2006 by Mihnea Boiangiu

Blackberry Pearl

Blackberry Pearl is one of the smallest smartphones in the world. It’s dimensions are minimal: 107 x 50 x 14.5 mm and only 89.5 g. This marvelous piece of art can be described in 3 words: small, smart and stylish. Blackberry Pearl supports 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS and EDGE networks, so it can be used in North America and Europe too. The smartphone has some great functions, but it can be improved. For example, the screen offers only 65k colors, in comparison with other new mobile phones which have better screens. TheƂ Blackberry Pearl 8100 has a SureType keyboard technology in a QWERTY-style layout. It is equipped with dedicated Send, End and Mute keys, and has the option for the user to define his own keys.
I want to present you the main advantages of this cellphone:
- brilliant design and good quality materials;
- 1.3 megapixel flash camera, with 5x digital zoom;
- Blackberry Maps, for driving directions in US and Canada;
- expandable memory capability (microSD card);
- trackball navigation;
- Document viewer (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF.)

It has some weak points too:
- 65k colors display;
- no infrared port;
- no Wi-Fi.

Prices for this smartphone are around $500. For a business mobile, the price is fair.
