Zepto’s new Hydra A17, for Serious Gamers

Posted September 6th, 2008 by Alex Ion

Is there a way you can convince gamers to buy a laptop instead of a desktop computer? Probably! Zepto is trying to do so with their new model, Hydra A17. With a name reminding of all sorts of video games, coming in black and with a semi-gothic dragon on the cover, I’m pretty sure there will be a lot of little guys that will ask their mommies and daddies to buy them one.

But are there are reasons to buy Zepto’s new Hydra A17 other than the looks? Oh yeah.

This little creature is packing the latest Intel P9500 Core 2 Duo processor, has a 17-inch screen and thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTX with 1GB of VRAM it does 1920 x 1200. Did I mention the 4GB of RAM or the built-in subwoofer? They do help when taking the decision.

Now about the price, I’m not sure if you’re going to like it. The P9500 (Centrino2) version of Zepto’s Hydra A17 is going to cost you £2,029.00 ($3,573) but if you go with the P7350 and ditch the wireless the OS and only let 1GB of RAM on it, it should start at $2,500.

Check out Zepto’s site and configure it yourself.
