Posted September 23rd, 2008 by Alex Ion

A little bit longer than expected but Sony came out with the official announcement about their newest Blu-ray laptop, which as a coincidence is also the lightest in the world. Dubbed Sony Vaio TT it’s a 11.1-inch beauty that only weighs 2.87-pounds because it’s made of carbon-fiber.

Now onto the real specs, the new Vaio TT is going to use Intel’s Centrino 2 technology, will pack an XBRITE-DuraView LCD that delivers 100 percent color saturation and ideal for 16:9 HD movies, a dual channel 256GB (128GB X 2) solid state drive (SSD) setup with RAID, energy-efficient white LED backlight, HDMI output. Did I mention that it uses Sprint Wireless WAN technology (EV-DO Revision A) and runs on Windows Vista ?

If you like it, then you should know the prices for the sub-1-inch thick Vaio TT, they start at $2,700 for the Blu-ray versions and $2,750 if you need the SSD. Nothing about the battery yet, but we’ll have more info soon.
