HP Japan announced that the wait for the new 12-inch tablet pc, HP Compaq 2710p, is finally over. The lightweight 1.6kg (3.5-pound) notebook wasn’t presented in an official press release or anything, it just popped out on the official website. All the notebooks run Windows Vista Business 32/64 on Intel Core 2 Duo ULV processors U7500/7600 at 1.2 or 1.06 MHz, with Wireless and Bluetooth as a standard. The prices vary from $1649 to $2478 depending on what configuration you choose. With a very professional design and a very functional display I am sure this one will become a success soon.

If you buy it today chances are to be shipped from July 25th or August 3rd if you need the 1xEV-DO (Verizon) Broadband module that costs $199.
