Falcon Northwest TLX Laptop
Posted February 11th, 2007 by Marius TrusculescuFalcon Northwest recently announced a new product in their laptop series: the TLX. Judging by the hardware specifications this notebook is clearly aimed at at taking full advantage of all the new features in Windows Vista and provide customers with the best technology currently available on the market.
Including a Intel Core Duo processor is a trend for nowadays high-end laptop producers, and, at the same time, a factual representation of how good this line of processors actually is. As a video graphical unit Falcon Northwest used an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphical board that has 256 MB of built-in RAM being ready to deliver high graphical performance while also respecting the low energy requirements necessary for every notebook component. The display of the TLX is a 17″ anti-glare LCD screen (1680 x 1050) which will also be able to display your favorite TV channels as there is a built-in tuner in the notebook.

A built-in 1.3 MP digital camera facilitates taking photos, but it’s real purpose is providing true videoconferencing capabilities together with the built-in microphone and speakers. As for text input, the TLX offers a 101 keys keyboard, which means a numeric keypad area is also present for ease at working with numbers. Moving into the connectivity area we notice the Bluetooth support, WiFi 802.11 b/g card, 3 USB 2.0 ports, a 4-in-1 card reader to name just a few.
As impressive as this may seem the only disadvantage I see is in the price which, depending on the configurations chosen, tops even the prices of a MacBook Pro and people think that is expensive.
